Restaurant Castell Perelada celebrates its 10th Anniversary with a very special menu

This summer, Restaurant Castell Perelada celebrates a remarkable milestone: 10 years of history, creativity and passion for its territory: the Empordà. On July 9, 2016, the restaurant’s kitchen fires were lit for the very first time, with Xavier Sagristà and Toni Gerez leading this gastronomic destination located within Castell de Peralada. A decade later, it has established itself as one of the region’s leading culinary references, thanks to a proposal that combines the tradition of the Empordà with a contemporary vision, earning one Michelin Star and two Soles Repsol.

To commemorate this anniversary, chef Javi Martínez has created two new tasting menus under the title “Origin and Evolution”, a shorter version and a more extensive one. This gastronomic experience invites guests to revisit the restaurant’s most iconic dishes, which have shaped its journey since opening.

This new menu is a journey through some of the restaurant’s most memorable creations, dishes that have defined its identity over the past ten years. From “Cured tuna and almonds (2016)”, one of the restaurant’s earlier creations, to more recent dishes such as “Red prawn empedrat (2025)” or “Pigeon, mushrooms and carob (2026)”.

The experience continues with a sweet finale, bringing back some of the restaurant’s most celebrated desserts of the past decade including “Apple soup and sorbet with basil, yogurt and wasabi (2017)” or “Eggplant, cocoa, coffee and whisky (2019)” or the iconic “Vi to Bar (2024)”.

On the occasion of this celebration, Chef Javi Martínez explains:

"To mark this anniversary, we wanted to pause for a moment and look backTo revisit our notebooks, remember dishes, rediscover flavours and relive moments that have shaped the identity of our cuisine from our very first service until today.
This menu is a journey through time. It is a selection of creations that, at different stages over the past ten years, have represented our way of cooking, thinking and thrill. Each of them forms part of our memory and of the restaurant’s history
Every dish tells the story of who we werewho we are today and the direction in which we want to continue moving."

Nestled within the incomparable surroundings of Castell de Peralada, the restaurant remains faithful to a philosophy built on respect for the product, technical excellence and a deep connection with its territory. Ten years after opening its doors, this commemorative menu not only celebrates the journey so far, but also looks to the future with the same enthusiasm, creativity and commitment that have defined its story from day one.
